Poetry in Action: Deep Sleep

Deep Sleep
by: Ann Miranda

Part 1:
my words will move you, but my silence will haunt you
unspoken lines will tremble, quietness will unscramble
my absence will say more, lips in stillness will roar
hues of life will subside, weary heart must now hide

Part 2:
eyes wide shut i see, bewildered tranquility
staggered noise without a sound, frantic rumpus all around
presence fleeting with time, i commit w jovial crime
i speak of truth so clearly, as i plee deep insanity

Part 3:
my mouth utters fiction, darkness lurks in conviction
shadow in demented light, restless swirls into the night
my illicit words will rumple, hope in hands starts to crumble
closed eyes i feel no fright, as i wait for the lingering flight

Part 4:
abandoned consciousness bid goodbye, river of water hole runs dry
sleeping willow sway the green, cloak me from the trivial stream
i am now a nomad in winterland, feet frolics on white snowy sand
in deep sleep i will slumber, ring of deceit i am sober.
